The session will deep-dive into public lighting projects in Sub-Saharan Africa, in particular projects covering the expansion and energy efficiency of public lighting systems. The relevant technical, financial and institutional aspects to consider when developing and implementing such projects will be discussed in order to equip attending local administrations with solutions to overcome obstacles during project development. ICLEI Africa’s LoCS4Africa 2020 was presented in partnership with the Covenant of Mayors in Sub-Saharan Africa (CoM SSA). The congress was co-hosted by the Government of Rwanda, the City of Kigali and the Rwanda Association of Local Government Authorities.
